Abstract
In this series of lectures, I will discuss work we have done at Notre Dame on a variety of materials and issues.  Topics to be discussed include: (a) The synthesis and characterization of solution-based semiconductor nanowires (NWs), (b) Ensemble NW optical measurements, (c) Synthesis and characterization of two- dimensional materials, (d) Single NW emission measurements, (e) Single NW and nanorod extinction measurements, (f) Spatially-resolved measurements of single layer graphene oxide photoreduction, (g) Nanobelt emission up-conversions studies for laser cooling applications, and (h) Spatially-resolved measurements of hybrid perovskite photophysics.
