Abstract
In these lectures, we will provide a pedagogical introduction to state-of-the-art techniques to treat strongly correlated electron systems. We will tackle the problem of the correlation-driven metal-to-insulator Mott transition and we will discuss the emerging properties of some paradigmatic correlated quantum materials.
