Our Ph.D. program is the result of the cooperation between two of the most prestigious Italian universities, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca.
The Graduate School original focus was on Public Economics. While we retain a penchant for this field, we now offer opportunities to carry out research in many areas of Economics, by relying on a large number of Faculty members. Moreover, the Faculty now includes several researchers who are very active in the fields of Banking and Finance.
The founding universities have a long and consolidated tradition of post-graduate teaching and research in Economics and Finance, and have strong links with both Italian and international organizations. By drawing on scholars from both universities, we guarantee that our students are taught by experts in each field, receiving a state-of-the-art education. Furthermore, renowned international professors from top institutions and professional economists working in international public organizations are invited as guest lecturers by the School on a regular basis, giving students the opportunity to meet outstanding scholars and start creating connections.
The Graduate School encourages its students to spend part of their time at one of our partner universities and at international institutions in order to further strengthen their education. We work to build a friendly and exciting research environment for ambitious doctoral students, where they can both develop their skills and make long lasting relationships. We particularly welcome students from abroad. The Graduate School offers them a unique opportunity to live in an exciting city like Milan, using it as a base for exploiting the many chances offered by Italy's top research centres, and possibly to enjoy the country's beauties. We look forward to meeting you in Milan.
