Message from the Director

Our outstanding study and research program is the result of the cooperation between two of the most prestigious Italian universities, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca. While we retain a penchant for public economics -- which is in the tradition of the Defap Graduate School in Economics -- by relying on a large number of Faculty member we can offer opportunities to carry out research in many areas of economics.
The founding universities have a long and consolidated tradition of post-graduate teaching and research in economics and business studies, and have strong links with both Italian and international organizations. By drawing on the expertise from two different universities, we can guarantee that our students are taught by experts in each field. Furthermore, renowned international academics and professional economists working in international public organizations are invited as guest lecturers by the School on a regular basis, giving students the opportunity to meet and create connections with them. The Graduate School encourages its students to spend part of their course of studies at one of our partner universities and at international institutions in order to complete their education.
We work to build a friendly and exciting research environment for ambitious doctoral students, where they can both develop their skills and make lasting friendships. We particularly welcome students from outside Italy; for them, the Graduate School also offers a unique opportunity to live in an exciting city like Milan and use the city as a base from which to discover Italy and its beauties.
