Message from the Director

The Graduate School in the Economics and Finance of Public Administration pools the resources of three of the most prestigious Italian universities to offer an outstanding study and research programme in the field of public economics and public sector economics. The Graduate School is co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research through a special grant in support of initiatives achieving high academic standards.

The founding universities have a long and consolidated tradition of post-graduate teaching and research in economics, law, and business studies, and all have strong links with both Italian and international public organisations. By drawing on expertise from three different universities, we can guarantee our students teaching by experts in each field. Furthermore, renowned international academics and professional economists working in international public organisations are invited as guest lecturers by the School on a regular basis, giving students the opportunity to meet and create lasting connections with them. The Graduate School encourages its students to spend part of their course of studies at one of the partner universities and at international institutions in order to complete their graduate education.

We work to build a friendly and exciting research environment for ambitious doctoral students, where they can both develop their skills and make lasting friendships. We particularly welcome students from outside Italy; for them, the Graduate School also offers a unique opportunity to discover Italy and its beauties from the privileged viewpoint of an exciting city like Milan.

A number of doctoral students have already joined the graduate programme offered by DEFAP.
